I am attracted to the act of conjuring an image, the process of bringing a painting into being. I like the visual adventure of seeing something that has never been before. For me, painting is an unfolding journey, and the destination is not often revealed in advance. Painting is more a process of incremental discovery than a path to a preconceived conclusion. I am ever curious to see the next painting. For many years I taught painting and life drawing in a small private college in upstate New York. I am now painting full time in my own studio.
