«Light as Inspiration» International contest
On 17th of September 2010 Sunflowers Art Assocition welcomed their guests for the opening of the Light as Inspiration exhibition. The atmosphere at the Galerie am Rathaus gallery corresponded perfectly to the showcased artworks of the international contest winners. German and foreign friends of art had the chance to personally meet the two of the winners – Elisabeth Ertelthalner (Austria) and Rea Leonidopoulou (Greece), who travelled to Berlin especially for the occasion. The jury was represented by Vessy Banzourkova (Bulgaria) and Joanna Kott (Germany).
We thank everyone for being there and look forward to seeing you soon again.
The paintings of Elisabeth Ertelthalner, Rea Leonidopoulou and Silvia Pavlova (Bulgaria) were exhibited at the Galerie am Rathaus by 17th of October 2010.
The “Light as Inspiration” winners are:

The common exhibition of the three winners took place between
17th of September and 17th of October 2010
in the Gallery of Rathaus Schöneberg Berlin.

The International Art Contest Light as Inspiration – History:
Dear artists and friends of art,
We thank everyone who participated in our international contest “Light as Inspiration”.
To sum up, we had 89 participants from 29 different countries – in Europe, North & South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. The following countries are represented:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA.
The winners will be announced in the middle of June 2010.

„Sunflowers” Contest for Visual Arts – Light as Inspiration

Participation Conditions & Procedure
The purpose of the Sunflowers Art Contest, entitled “Light as Inspiration,” is to support and popularize creative artists from all over the world and to encourage artistic cultural exchange. Our Association aims to bring together emerging artists working with “light” in changing international contexts, and in this way to stimulate the development of creativity and innovation.
You are invited to apply by submitting artwork inspired by light in the following genres:
- Painting
- Photography
- Sculpture / Installation
- Mixed Media
In order to participate in the contest please send us in one email:
- 5 (five) photos of your work, each file with resolution 600/800, jpg format.
- The Application form filled in.
- Your full name in the subject field and “for the contest” (ex. “Joey Smith – for the contest”)

Deadline: April 15, 2010
Please send us all the materials by April 15, 2010.
Each participant will be contacted with a confirmation email.
Our international jury will evaluate your works anonymously by June 1st, 2010 and the three winning participants will be officially announced in the middle of June 2010.
Prize
The content prize will be a common exhibition of the awarded art works of the first three artists. The exhibition will take place end of 2010 in Berlin, one of the most famous and dynamic art and cultural centers in Europe. The actual date and location of the exhibition will be specified in the coming months.
Additionally, at the opening of the exhibition, an art meeting will be held. All participants are cordially welcome. Exhibition news will be advertised widely and published in different media. Art critics, curators, collectors and art lovers will all be invited. The organizers will also invite representative persons of foreign cultural institutions to the opening.

Jury
An international jury of art experts will evaluate the submitted artwork. The jury members consist of the following:
- Vessy Banzourkova, Bulgaria, Photographer & Producer
- Mona Youssef, Canada/Egypt. Artist
- Joanna Kott, Germany. Artist and Art teacher.
